2024 Volkswagen Golf unveiled with ChatGPT

Ana sayfa / Cars

The Volkswagen Golf is a car model produced by the German automotive company Volkswagen. In 2019, the 8th generation appeared. The car, which sold out in many countries, including our country, was very popular and did not lose its popularity. Now the 2024 make-up version of this very popular car has emerged. Here is the 2024 model make-up Volkswagen Golf…

On the 2024 Volkswagen Golf exterior, the headlights have a narrower, more angular shape at the front. The taillight design has been updated with a new light signature to make the rear end look new. These lamps give a three-dimensional look to those looking at the car from the rear. As before, LED lights come as standard, with the option to upgrade to Matrix IQ.LIGHT LED headlights on all models.

These headlights can turn off parts of the headlights when another car is detected. This allows you to keep the high beam on without dazzling other drivers. The design of the radiator grille varies depending on which version of the Golf you choose, but each one has been tweaked and made slightly larger than before.

The biggest changes about the 2024 Volkswagen Golf: Interior design

The biggest changes for the 2024 Volkswagen Golf are related to the in-car technology. The confusing, slow and often problematic 10-inch infotainment system found in the old car has been replaced with a completely new setup. Featuring a 10.4-inch central display and a 10.2-inch driver display, the new system will come standard on all models.

Volkswagen has also simplified the layout of the infotainment system by separating the shortcut buttons and climate controls that have always remained in place for easier access to the top and bottom of the screen. The in-car touch buttons are also now backlit. In addition, the much-maligned touch buttons on the steering wheel have been replaced by physical buttons.

In addition to all these, Cerence and ChatGPT will work in coordination. One of the features we will encounter with the new Golf will be voice assistant assistance. This voice assistant will try to answer all your questions using ChatGPT.

Minimal changes in the engine

For the 2024 Volkswagen Golf, the changes to the engine line-up seem pretty minimal; you’ll still be able to get the Golf with a range of petrol, diesel, mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid options – but there have been some tweaks. Gone is the entry-level 1.0-liter petrol engine. The gasoline options now consist of two 1.5-liter turbocharged engines, one producing 113 hp and the other 148 hp.

These are only available with a six-speed manual gearbox. There is also a pair of mild hybrids that produce the same amount of power as the regular gasoline versions. Electric support helps to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. These come standard with the seven-speed DSG automatic transmission. The Golf with all-wheel drive and a 201 hp gasoline engine will go on sale next year.

Meanwhile, the plug-in hybrid option, called ‘eHybrid’, has been given a larger battery. Volkswagen says the increase in capacity from 10.4 kWh to 19.7 kWh means the updated model will have a range of around 100 km on electricity alone, compared to the 67 km that the current model can officially manage. eHybrid’s total power output remains unchanged at 201 hp.

The updated Golf is available with two 2.0-liter diesel engines. A 113 hp option mated to a six-speed manual transmission and a 148 hp unit mated to a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission. It is worth noting that we will not see the diesel versions in our country.

Pricing

Volkswagen has not yet announced pricing for the vehicle. However, prices for the Volkswagen Golf Mk8.5 are expected to start at around 32,700 euros in Europe when it goes on sale in the spring. This is a slight increase compared to the current model. But it is above the price of the Golf’s close relative, the Seat Leon, and close to the starting price of the Toyota Corolla.
